It’s not often that I come up empty with words for this blog. If I happen to be void of any real motivational thought, I’d rather just skip writing that day and avoid boring you and me both.
Today, though, I have a few things I want to chat with you about. I wish we were sharing a hot latte over the kitchen table and we could just pass the hours catching up on the randomness of life. Since that’s impractical, I’ll be brief and just feature the miniscule thoughts and happenings of yesterday and today.
- Yesterday, I almost dyed my hair a very, very dark cherry. The owner of the salon talked me off the ledge and told me I’d be much happier with something in the “red” family. I was frustrated~ I’ve been in the “red” family for my entire life. Only because he appeared to be a fantastic hairdresser did I finally concede. Long story short, he was right. Had I gotten my way, I’d look a little like this right now.
- I came very close to hitting 3 beautiful, adult deers as they gracefully (and dangerously) leapt across County Line Road smack in the midst of traffic at 8:30pm. Thankfully, all made it safely across but they were so discombobulated upon reaching the other side and defying death that the 3 scattered in different directions. Had I struck a deer and lived to tell about it, I guarantee you I would still be siting on County Line Road, a puddle of grief. How on earth people hunt those elegant animals is beyond me. I once hit a squirrel while driving, maybe in 1989?, and it still bothers me.
- My dog, Kahlua, is spiteful. I have a throw rug that I keep outside of the master shower. As soon as she notices how fluffy white and clean it is, she squats her little 8 pound body on it and presents me with a pee-pee spot the size of a cookie. She did it again last night. Not because she has to go….no, it’s more because she wonders how long I’ll repeat this sick cycle of laundry. Who needs the training, you ask?
- I am meeting my best friend Joyce today. (Okay, not meeting….I’ll be sitting in the audience somewhere listening to her and she’ll go on not knowing I exist but still….I’ll be in the same enormous room with her. Good enough.
- I don’t allow comments anymore on this blog because I was getting these auto spam messages that clobbered my comment approval box. Last night, I realized that was another technological advance I don’t care for. Spam. So for those of you who comment elsewhere (email or FB or in person, thanks!) because I really do miss hearing from you guys here. I’ll get my spam filters updated soon.
- And, lastly, I was thinking how cool it is that there are a handful of you that take a couple of minutes whenever you can to check in here and see what’s up. Really, how great is that. Time is valuable and you are sharing it with me. …….really wish we were sharing latte’s.
