I’ve been too tired to blog! No longer working fulltime hasn’t equated, so far, to my discovery of unfilled hours every day. Instead, my task list has outgrown my capabilities. So I’m left to wonder~ how did all of this get done before I quit my job?
When I have to time to really figure that out, I’ll let you know.
Before you feel too sorry for me, though, I should mention that after picking up my daughter at the airport yesterday for an impromptu visit, we headed to Clearwater Beach and I literally watched any stress she was carrying just fall off of her shoulders. Sitting in the breeze and listening to a man who looked suspiciously like Jesus sing along with his guitar, we laughed and caught up on life. Today, we’ll fit in some pool time between two separate vet appointments and a much needed trip to the grocery store. That’s not an altogether bad day 🙂
My son left to study abroad one week ago today. Though I miss him TONS, we get to chat on Facebook and Skype far more often than I thought we would. He’s taking some amazing photos and having a great time. My kids are good….so I am good.
Even though I haven’t written much in the last week, I’ve naturally been taking a lot in. I tend to analyze what’s going on around me and always looking for the why’s, how’s, irony and reasoning of it all. Just ask my husband, he’ll tell you. It’s my relentless quest to “figure it all out”.
In the last week or two, I’ve heard of relationships being restored that were once thought impossible and experienced one or two myself!
I’ve made many new friends as a result of the benefit ride that W and I organized.
I watched over 3 dozen volunteers give an entire day to a cause simply because their hearts are so full of compassion for the Matthews family.
Those same two thoughtfully authentic Pastors I mentioned in my blog a few weeks ago were there to pray and greet riders/volunteers.
You really learn who your friends are when you’re asking for help, don’t you? Typically, God blessed us with surprises. Many of those we were counting on months ago were nowhere to be found but God gave us more than we needed, as always. The foundation was able to garner several thousand dollars as a result of the benefit ride and we will be bigger and better next year.
We have learned so much. Much about people, much about organizing something like this, much about what we’ll improve on, much about how we will delegate. I’ll blog tomorrow and include some pictures of the event.
To those among you who are moms, I hope your Mother’s Day was amazing. I hope your Wednesday will be wonderful, too. I’m off to regroup and recover in the sun.
Be blessed!
Amy
