I must confess that I am deeply appreciative. I am humbled by my friends (and family!) who are encouraging this blog through their responses here, on Facebook, Twitter, or via email. I pray I never take advantage of this forum to discourage you! However, now is the time for a disclaimer.
I don’t always know the exact words to say. I’m not always inspiring. I’m definitely not the most positive person in the room. Yep, it’s the truth. Sometimes I’m at a loss for words, though some will say that doesn’t happen nearly often enough. 😉 There are times when my words and thoughts aren’t very inspiring. In fact, there are too many occasions when I’m quick to judge and not so quick to forgive.
I am completely normal…I sin every day and am blessed to be completely forgiven just because I ask and His grace is far bigger than I can comprehend.
We are all in this together ~ encouraging, supporting, listening, sharing, lifting up, and praying. Today, and every day, I’m just going to strive for these words:
“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” ~Matthew 7:12
And for those of you, like me, who need a list of core values, consider these.
1. Do the right thing for the right reasons
2. Pray God’s agenda, not your own
3. Relationships will make or break you
4. Prioritize eternal things
5. Don’t sweat the small stuff
6. God’s kingdom is paramount; seek it first
7. Judge yourself before you judge others
8. If you need something, ask; if you have something, give
9. Stay true to your convictions
10. Obedience to God is the only sure foundation for life
Thank you, John C. Maxwell. You inspire me.
So although I hope to inspire, lift you up, cheer you up, give you things to consider, I will drop the ball more than once. So just know that but continue to encourage me and I’ll continue to encourage you, I hope.
