Yesterday afternoon, I wandered into one of my favorite places ~ Barnes and Noble. After grabbing an iced chai tea latte (it’s far too humid for anything without ice), I somehow found a chair and settled in to peruse over a few carefully selected books from the shelves in the Christian section.

The first book was titled

Life, In Spite of Me by Kristen Jane Anderson

Instead of perusing, I read the entire 200+ pages right smack in the middle of the typical hustle and bustle of a Sunday afternoon Barnes and Noble bookstore.  Below is an interview with Kristen from Billy Graham’s program in 2007 but she has been on Oprah and numerous other programs to discuss her failed attempt at suicide as a 17 year old. People are not meant to survive being run over by 30 freight cars on a train track but, miraculously, she did.

As I was watching this interview on Youtube, I thought to myself “Who am I to not be hopeful? How can I ever feel that a situation is hopeless?” ……when just as the interview was concluding, Billy Graham’s telecast included Casting Crown’s “Who am I?” performed live.  Wow.

He gave me what I needed to have renewed hope right when I needed it ~ and that is what is so completely mind blowing about God. He is so faithful.
