Here is it~ the week that kicks off the craziness of the holiday season. I told my husband those very words this morning and sensed his panic. You mean our lives are going to get crazier? Yep…but a good kind of crazy.

The Thanksgiving food purchases happen today. Some of the dishes will be prepared as early as tomorrow and the house will be get the once over in anticipation of family coming over for dinner. There isn’t anything I dislike about Thanksgiving….food, family, football. Gratitude. I have everything I need and more.

In a turkey coma, we head out the following day for mall madness! Yes, I enjoy battling it out for a good parking spot in the sea of cars. I enjoy watching Floridians dressed for a blizzard when it’s 75 degrees outside. (We’re a hopeful bunch).   I enjoy browsing and complaining the sales aren’t what they used to be.  I enjoy taking a break with a delicious meal at a restaurant, more shopping AND, if I’m super lucky, even a movie to close out the day.

Of course, there are people I wish were going to be sitting at our table this year who will be missing. That, too, makes me thankful for the times those people did break bread with us on Thanksgiving.  A reminder to make every moment count because life and circumstances are so fragile….

Have a bountiful, beautiful Thanksgiving. Tell people you love them. Share good wishes over the miles. Forgive an offense or two. Extend an invitation to an unlikely guest. Have a conversation with God about everything He has provided for you this year.

And accept the blessings in your life!

    Thank you

    1. Wow. Thank you! This comment and your friendship is something else I can add to my list of blessings…… 🙂

  2. I wish I would have read this days ago. It would have prevented the social and spiritual meltdown I had as I focused more on our supper instead of our Saviour.
